MYSTERIOUS TIBET:
Tour and Pilgrimage to holy sites and Everest Base Camp

Tibet is an exotic and mysterious land that lies on the highest plateau of the world. Buddhist temples, monasteries, sacred turquoise lakes and holy rivers make a journey to Tibet an unforgettable experience. Tibet is a land that seems held back in time and filled with mystery. The Tibetan people and their religion are inseparable and their nomadic life remains much the same as it was one hundred years ago. This country is home to many mystical and sacred sites. Guarded by passes and blessed by the prayer flags, is Lhasa the ancient capital, Tibet 's sacred city. It is home to the legendry and magical Potala, the ancient seat of Dalai lama and the Jokhang, Tibet 's most sacred monastery that is the spiritual centre of Tibet . Shigatse, the seat of Panchen Lama has the awe inspiring Tashilumpo monastery and the giant statue of the Buddha. Gyantse has the incredible architecture of the Kumbum monastery and Rombuk monastery, the highest in the world (4900mts), has a spectacular view of Mt. Everest . On the way to Nepal is the famous Milarepa's cave. This 16 th century Tibetan yogi wrote: “Up there, among the sunny stones, you can find an odd market: you can exchange the vortex of your life with a limitless bliss”.

The highlight of Tibet Tour is to visit and spend as much time as possible in the sacred temples, gompas, and monuments. The participants will be accompanied by the organizers of these tours personally and the Tibetan guide through out the stay in Tibet. The sites visited will be: The Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple at the heart of Lhasa, Sera Monastery where the monks organize debates every afternoon, Drepung Monastery the seat of the first Dalai lamas before shifting to Potala. Having stayed in Lhasa for three days the tour precedes to Gyantse the home of famous Kumbum Monastery and than to Xigatse where there is tashilumpo Monastery the seat of the Panchen Lama. The route continues to Shakya and than to the Everest base Camp and after visiting the Milarepa Cave descend down to bordering Zangmu town. All the tours besides Lhasa will be conducted in 4500 4WD Mitshubishi Jeeps. Having left the jeeps in Nepal-Tibet Friendship Bridge, we complete the Nepali immigration formalities and drive back to Kathmandu (if the roads are good, 5-6hrs drive).

NB: Most the roads in Tibet are only graveled not pitched. The road that connects Everest Base Camp to Dingri is challenging one though we will be excavating one of the most beautiful valleys.
